LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday sought comments from the Shafiqabad SHO by November 27 in a petition seeking a case against some police officials, including an ASI, for allegedly forcing the petitioner to give them Rs5,000 “for sweets”. Abdur Raheem said that he had been at his nephew’s engagement ceremony on November 11 when ASI Tariq and four other policemen entered his house and demanded Rs5,000 for sweets and tea. Raheem said that when he refused, the officials threatened to implicate him in false cases. He said that he approached the relevant police station to file a complaint against the policemen but the SHO refused. Raheem asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case.
