Mnch programme: Health Dept to appoint 35 midwives

JOHARABAD: Health Department has started appointing community midwives in various union councils of the district, Waqar Ali Khan, the National Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) Programme social organiser for Khushab district, said on Wednesday. He said there were 35 vacancies for the post of midwives in 28 union councils of Khushab district. Khan said these seats will be allotted to the rural union councils. The candidates must be local union council resident. Midwives will be given Rs3,500 per month during training. After completing the training, Health Department will set up a clinic for midwives within three years at their homes or in the village. In first two years, they will be given Rs2,000 stipend every month.
