Poor security: Robbers steal gold from jewellery shop

Gold worth millions of rupees was robbed by unidentified men from a jewellery shop in Saddar market.

KARACHI: Gold worth millions of rupees was robbed by unidentified men from a jewellery shop in Saddar market on Wednesday. Naeem and Brothers Jewellery shop is located on Zaibunisa Street within Preedy police station limits. The owner of the shop, Naseem, told the police that he found the office locks and the shutter broken when he reached his shop on Wednesday morning. The shopkeepers of the market staged a protest to demand immediate arrest of the culprits. The police convinced the protesters to end the protest and let the traffic resume by promising cooperation. SHO Akhtar Bangash said the thieves entered the shop by cutting the locks on Tuesday night. According to him, the stolen jewellery weighed one kilogramme.
