The gathered-cuff detail on Emma’s pants gives her look an edgy twist.

Emma Stone rocked a fresh twist on the traditional navy pantsuit last week, at a photocall for The Amazing Spiderman 2. Her look is proof that wardrobe staples don’t have to be boring, and with the weather taking a turn towards chilly, this will be the perfect way to cover up yet still look chic.

Hair

Emma’s fringe is styled off her face and the rest of her hair is in loose waves. If she can go au naturel, so can we. Skip the styling ladies, work some L’Oreal Nutri-Shimmer Shine Detangling Spray (Rs800) through towel-dried hair, and let it dry naturally. It’s lightweight enough for daily use, and will save your hair from frizz in the winter dryness.

Outfit

A well-tailored blazer is a must have in any fashionista’s closet. This versatile piece is the easiest way to pull together any outfit, whether it’s jeans and a T-shirt or a blouse and slacks. We guarantee that it will be one of the most worn pieces in your closet, so feel free to splurge on one at Mango (Rs8,900). It’s an investment that will pay off in spades. There’s no compromising on quality when it comes to closet essentials, and you’re totally worth it anyway.

The gathered-cuff detail on Emma’s pants gives her look an edgy twist. Cropped pants have been a big trend for the last few years, and show no signs of disappearing off the fashion radar any time soon. These stylish tapered trousers from Debenhams are only for Rs2,000 and have a subtle sheen, which means they can go from day-to-night with minimal fuss.

Pair both pieces with a crisp blue button down (properly pressed please), and you’re good to go for a flirty (and warm!) Fall look.

Make-up

Emma’s fresh-faced look goes well with her laid-back outfit. The only make-up on her face is a dab of peach blush on her cheeks and a natural lipstick. Try Peachstock by Mac (if you can find it, it’s a Pro only colour but completely worth the hunt). It’s a neutral peach with a satin finish that will suit medium skin-tones. It’s a little pricy at Rs2,400, but it’s not considered one of Mac’s Top 15 shades for nothing. Get Maybelline’s Dream mousse Blush (Rs1,200) in Peach Satin for a long lasting flush that blends easily and doesn’t clog pores.

Accessories and Shoes

While Emma Stone’s candy red Kurt Geiger pumps aren’t exorbitant by celeb standards (they’re priced at around Rs17,000), you can get a pair for less than half that amount at Charles & Keith. Red statement pumps are difficult to find, so if you spot a pair, snap it up. Red is the new neutral.

While Emma’s circle cat-eye sunglasses are probably vintage, this style of shades has made a comeback. You should be able to find similar retro-inspired tortoise shell sunnies from Splash, Mango, Next or Accessorise for between Rs2,500 to Rs3,500.

Her only jewellery is a simple gold chain with a single charm hanging off it and a plain gold band on her finger, which isn’t a wedding ring (alas, but we’re rooting for her and Andrew Garfield). A similar necklace will set you back about Rs1,500 from Accessorize and will be excellent for daily wear.
