Mother and child week: Over 7,000 children immunised at awareness event

Hundreds of women and children participated in a day-long ceremony held as a part of ‘Mother and Child Week’ at Women Hospital, Miranshah on Sunday.


The programme was organised by the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (Fata) health department in collaboration with the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (Unicef).  More than 7,223 children were immunised against various diseases and provided with free medicines and other facilities. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Unicef Additional Surgeon Dr Sadiq Dawar and Coordinator of National Health Program Dr Yousaf Jan enlightened participants about the objective and purpose of the mother and child week.
