LAHORE: The inaugural ceremony of the National Child Art Competition on “Me and My Rights” was held at Faiz Ghar on Sunday. The competition, organised by The Little Art, received around 4,000 entries from 132 schools across the country. Art pieces by 250 children have been selected to be displayed alongside the winning entries for three days at Faiz Ghar. Prizes worth Rs400,000 were distributed among 30 winners. The art pieces were screened by RM Naeem of the National College of Arts. Two of the best winning entries will be sent to the Sharjah International Biennial for Children’s Art. They will also be awarded certificates of excellence. The ArtBeat’s National Child Art Competition began in 2012 with the vision to develop an understanding of issues among children and to celebrate children as artists.
