The Lahore High Court has disposed of an application regarding a woman’s alleged rape and murder by family members, after legal proceedings were initiated against the victim’s brother.
Sobia Aman had submitted an application to the LHC Complaints Cell stating that her friend *Sadia had left her house in Nawankot village after being sexually assaulted by her father.
The applicant said that Sadia’s relatives had persuaded her to return home at the end of May, assuring that they would not allow her to be sexually assaulted again. But a few days later, Sadia was poisoned and killed, the applicant said.
The LHC Complaints Cell instructed the Gujrat district and sessions judge to investigate the matter. He reported that Sadia had been killed by her brother due to alleged “immoral and suspicious activities”.
A case had been registered against the brother at Saddar police station in Gujrat, after Sadia’s body had been exhumed and autopsied, the judge reported.
The post mortem report and the police investigation report have been submitted to the trial court. The judge added that the allegation that Sadia had been raped by her father had not been proven.

"Honour" killing would be to stone the father and brother to death. THATS Islam if you want to keep bringing religion into everything. What about the Austrian father who enslaved his 18 year old daughter in his basement for 20 years, raped her regularly, had 7 children from her, threw one newborn of his incestous relationship into a burner! Now does that mean thats how all Christians and Austrians are?? Women are treated with more respect in this "jahil" Pakistan than in the western "educated" world. I can say this with honesty because I have lived on 4 continents and returned to Pakistan. Rare cases like these happen everywhere in the world and they should be highlighted in the media for the sake of justice.
The girl gets raped is inhuman. The girl gets murders; that's insane. The culprits won't be caught & punished; that would be of legal system. And people who presumably are educated and making illogical comments dragging religion into this issue; that's how hopeless our education system is. It's sad education and exposure to civilized world does no harm to some people.

How much money police will earn to bury this case? Can any body give his estimate. I am thinking down the line about this case. After all police is the most honest dept. Finally that brother will be released because there was insufficient evidence against him? Usually that is the way most of these cases end. So all these commentators whose BP is going up at this time , should calm down and take it easy. They should let our honest police officers do the investigation and evaluate how much money they can make out of it.

@Salman: Faulty logic. Being an 'Islamic state' or a 'religious state' does not mean crime cannot happen. What is worth watching is how that crime is dealt with. And as the article says, the police are doing their job. Unless you want people to take the law into their own hands, that's how crimes are dealt with in any civilised country.

I wonder if anything can ever be proven in Pakistan' courts other than that the incestuous father is actually "innocent", or that there are no rapists, as there are conveniently no witnesses or DNA tests ever done after such despicable acts of stratified betrayal, in this case, by the own family members of this murdered woman. This "honour killing" (Honour?! Really?!) story is truly a double tragedy for this unfortunate victim...Wake up, people!!!

I am feeling very sorry for this girl, and her case should be taken forward honestly and responsibly and the rapist(s) and the murderer(s) should be apprehended and punished. This is above any religion, this is a crime against humanity. I am really shocked to hear that people can commit such atrocities; that such barbaric crimes exist in our society. After reading this story, only one thing is sure, we have wild beasts living among our society.

Just the kind of nice family I'd like to see move next door. I'll have to see if the Muslim Welcome Wagon has plenty of cyanide to go along with the nitro and blasting caps they need to get started. Yupe, a rucksack, a solid pair of hiking boots, ten kilograms of soluble toxins and a map of our reservoirs would make a very appropriate housewarming gift. We want them to feel right at home.
