South Africa won the opener on Wednesday by nine wickets and then made it two out of two by winning the second match by six runs to take the series 2-0.
Pakistan, who had entered the series in second position and had an opportunity to top the rankings, dropped behind Sri Lanka (128 ratings points), India and South Africa (both 123 ratings points) in fourth position on 120 ratings points - ahead of the West Indies by a fraction of a point, according to the rankings released by ICC on Saturday.
The series win boosted South Africa's rating by five points. The increase sees them join India on 123 ratings points but will be ranked below Mahendra Singh Dhoni's side by difference of one-hundredth of a decimal point.
Pakistan and the Proteas will now lock horns in a two-match series to be played from November 20-22 in Johannesburg and Cape Town respectively.

Cricket Pakistan is eliminated from Top 3 of all the 3 formats of the game (Test, ODI, .T20) with each passing day, they are going backwards at full speed.
we are turning out to be low class losers in all field.. what a shame
if we could not perform on a plain UAE wicket, wait till we see the bounce on a South African pitch.
