Violence roundup: One killed in tribal clash, body found

MIRANSHAH/ JAMRUD:

A tribesman was killed and another injured in a clash between two rival groups of a tribe in Mir Ali, North Waziristan Agency on Thursday.

According to a political administration official, tribesmen of Khushali Tori Khel opened fire at each other after the clash erupted over an old feud. One tribesman was killed and another was injured in the ensuing gunfight. The injured was rushed to Mir Ali subdivision hospital in critical condition.

Meanwhile, a bullet-riddled body was found at a roadside in Machi Khel area of the tehsil. The political administration official said they were informed about it early morning after which they shifted the deceased to Patasi Adda. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Farooq, a resident of Mir Ali Bazaar. The motive behind the killing could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.

Bara kidnapping

In Bara, Khyber Agency, unidentified militants allegedly kidnapped a tribesman from his house in Akka Khel.

A political administration official said Khana Gul was in his house when armed men barged in and forcefully took him to an undisclosed location. Khasadar officials in the area launched a search operation, but no one has yet been arrested.

House blown up

The house of a tribesman was destroyed in Khanzeb Kallay, Jamrud tehsil when a bomb planted by unidentified men along the boundary wall of the building went off.

Khasadar official Nawab Shah Afridi said the incident occurred a little after midnight. The boundary wall along with the main gate and two rooms of Ikhtiar Zeb’s house were destroyed due to the impact of the explosion.

No casualty was reported, said the official, adding panic spread among tribesmen residing in the neighbourhood after the incident. Zeb filed a case with the Jamrud political administration stating he does not have any enemies.
