A massive vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), also known as a truck bomb, was intercepted by Afghan security forces near the Pakistan-Afghan border in October, reported ABC News on Wednesday.
The truck driver was allegedly a Pakistani and he set off a grenade in the cab of the truck. When later taken to a hospital, he detonated a suicide vest, killing himself, stated Afghan sources.
The truck bomb was loaded with 61,500 pounds of explosives. In comparison, the truck bomb used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing - in which 168 people were killed - made use of 5,000 pounds of explosives.
The bomb, discovered in Afghanistan on October 14, is "larger in comparison to some others we have seen," said Army Colonel Christopher Garver, a spokesperson for the US-led International Security Assistance Force's (ISAF) Joint Command in Kabul, to ABC News.
Another source from the Defence Department stated it was the largest truck bomb ever known to be built.
Some analysts are skeptical about the estimated weight of the explosives, but still acknowledge that the bomb, also known as the Gardez VBIED, is extraordinarily large.

@VINOD: None of those people which you listed were from the lands of modern Pakistan, therefore those names have very little impact on Pakistanis in specific, and also Indian Muslims as they are all Non-Muslims (although Guru Nanak's religion is debatable).

It's an injustice from the part of Security officials that they took him for a Terrorist.He was a Pakistani trader who was supplying Pakistan's Biggest export(Terrorism & terror equipment) to the afghan customers. World should realize now that these arms & explosive supplies are what runs the Pakistan economy & millions of people are employed in this industry.It's time that world should find a suitable market for Pakistan's terror Products (suicide vests, Explosives, Hand grenades & many more) & establish its terror industry that would employ millions of skilled terrorists. Syria, Afghanistan, somalia & many more such countries can be very good markets & directing Pakistan's terror exports towards such countries would help save civilised countries & their People from these products coming through illegal trade channels.

Thanks for emphasizing this important point. People don't realize what a bastion of happiness Saudi Arabia is. I myself have experienced incredible joy as a Saudi woman. As the beatings rain down heavily from my husband, whose property I willingly am, I can't but think "wow, how did I ever deserve to be so happy?" Plus, we're great at human rights and that sort of stuff. In fact, we've had a lot of people from places like Zurich, Prague, and Lubbock, TX, emigrate to KSA to escape top-level unhappiness.

Lots of indian muslim that go to the places like SA, UK and Canada come in contact with the pakistani muslim, usually in mosque and get radicalized and brainwashed with islamist idea. Poor Afghan security forces doesn't know the difference between artificial fertilizer exported to Afghanistan line potassium nitrate and phosphorous. Can be used for making crude bombs though. With this catch poppy production in Afghanistan must be declining, unless the American and NATO troops support it directly. So, he sets up a grenade first - gets injured - reaches hospital (still with a suicide vest on), and blows himself up ... WOW!!!!!!!!!, Is it a Bollywood plot? Why didn't he blow himself up first? why couldn't the soldiers spot the suicide vest? so, grenade still left him with enough sense to detonate the vest? I mean ... WTF!!!!!!!!!!

Had this been a correct news, this would have gone on air at the time when the truck driver was captured.
All leading TV anchors and senior journalist of print media from around the world would have reached at the site where the truck was rather "arrested" and the name of Pakistan would have been in the world media since then and there would have been a pandora box open for debate.
The next day editorials in the leading news papers of the developed world would have been written against Pakistanis, Muslims and more particularly against Pakistan and Islam.
I don't believe in the correctness of the news - as this is nothing more than a concocted story against Pakistan and Pakistanis which comes put from devils mind.
