Mobile phone services were down for almost 15 hours.
Cellular services in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) are yet to be restored.
Earlier, mobile phone services were suspended in parts of Sindh, K-P and Punjab on Thursday for security reasons, Express News reported.
This security measure was taken to prevent any terrorist activities during Ashura.

Closure of cell phone was a step in right direction. Lets us appreciate what needs to be appreciated. Land lines remained operative therefore emergencies are taken care of adequately.
i think the government is not aware that the terrorists r using latest technology and equipments which even they don't have... there r many ways for communication rather than just using cellular networks. n btw who will be responsible for all the emergency situations in anyone's house, area, accident cases, heart attacks, robbery attempts? They should also suspend all helpline numbers 15, chhippa, edhi, Rangers helpline, fire brigade etc.
If so much of the national budget is spent on the army and police , why is it so incompetent at defending this nation's citizens? It is neither able to protect us from our external enemies the USA, which inflict drone strikes at will nor from homegrown terrorists such as the TTP,who want to impose a distorted 'Islamic' rule. The best security the authorities can come up with are ill planned measures like shutting down mobile networks that cause inconvenience and worry for the rest of us.These nuisances will remain unless there is a serious and concerted effort by all stakeholders to address core problems like lack of social cohesion and unity, gender and economic inequality ,lack of education and curriculum development, lack of ambition for personal development and slavish adherence to certain rigid cultural practices and beliefs which leave people open to exploitation.
Suspension of mobile service in the country shows complete failure of government to handle the affairs of the country. No country in the world has ever done so.For how long a country can be governed in this way? Suspension of mobile service in the country is not a solution to check the terrorism in the country.
if you criticized Rehman Malik for suspending cellular services and now appreciating this step of Ch Nisar ... you are a hypocrite
When you are incapable of doing the right thing in the right way................you try doing the right thing the wrong way.........and this is what we are seeing.
Now what is the difference between Rehman Malik & Chaudhary Nisar? What is the difference between PPP & PML N When PTI was saying this before elections, no-one listened to them, and voted for PMLN, now they will have fun like this for the next 5 years "YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW"
Îm not a rocket scientist, but there must be a better way to provide security for Pakistan than by sending us back to the dark ages when there are security concerns..
What do i do if my house catches fire? Who do I call if I have a heart attack? What if another girl is getting chased on seaview? Might be a public holiday in Pak but its a working day in most of the rest of the world. I suppose nobody needs to work either for that matter.
How do we let them turn off our phones time and again, instead of actually doing their jobs and doing something about the security situation?
I am satisfied that the government has taken the first step to curb the terrorism on 9th and 10th of Muharrram in the sensitive cities of Sindh.
The similar steps should also be taken in other sensitive cities of Pakistan to save the lives of innocent people.
