An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday handed a collective prison sentence of 75 years to three brothers charged of killing rape victim Uzma Ayub’s brother.
Ayub’s brother Alamzeb was gunned down on December 9, 2011 while escorting his sister for the hearing of the rape case in Karak. The deceased’s mother Balqesim Ayub later accused ASI Hakim Shah and his two brothers, Javed Shah and Ibrahim Shah, in a case registered at Yaqoob police station.
After hearing the arguments, ATC Judge Anwer Hussain Khan announced 25 years imprisonment each for Ibrahim Shah, Rahat Shah and Wahid Ahmad, while ASI Hakim Shah and Javed were acquitted in absence of proof against them.
