Renaming issue to be resolved through dialogue: Shujaat

Express April 13, 2010

ISLAMABAD: The PML-Q says the party has not publicised the Hazara issues and protests by non-pashtuns on renaming of the NWFP.

PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Husain said the renaming issue must be resolved through dialogue. The PML-Q leaders were addressing a press conference in Islamabad.

Chaudhry Shujaat said elements are trying to disrupt peace by turning peaceful protests into violent riots. The party's General Secretary Mushahid Husain said PML-Q's stance on the NWFP is that the dispute should be resolved through dialogue.

Mushahid said the PML-N has also realised its mistake over the issue and is likely to take a U-turn as well.

Rana Tahir Shahbaz | 14 years ago | Reply Infact PML-Q worked a lot during its tenure but only due to its affiliation with Gen. Musharaf, we never accepted PML-Q. Mian Nawaz Sharif has always been winning a seat from Hazara division but he made a mistake to be with pakhtons while changing the name of province. Instead of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa its name may be Hazara Pakhtoonkhwa.
