However, SBP fought back and managed a decent total of 261 for five in their second innings in the match being played at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot. Usman Arshad’s 102-run knock studded with 15 boundaries helped SBP cut the lead to 121 runs.
Elsewhere, speedster Mohammad Sami bowled PQA to a crucial 42-run first-inning lead against Wapda, which was later stretched to 216 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Wapda resumed third day’s play at 170 for seven and were sent packing for 231 in 68 overs.
Left-hander Adnan Raees scored a brave century in 200 balls for his 102, which included 14 boundaries, while Asif Ali contributed 71 to the total. In their second innings, PQA had reached 174 for five in 52 overs.
Win in sight for SNGPL
Defending champions SNGPL were in strong position to claim an outright win against UBL, who were struggling at 41 for three in their second innings after trailing by 291 runs at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.
SNGPL declared their second innings on 270 for five in 74.5 overs after starting the day on 23 for one. Azhar Ali remained not out on 106 off 177 which included 12 boundaries.
Meanwhile, PIA were in a favourable position to win their match against PTV, while KRL-HBL match seems to be heading towards a draw.
