Caught in action: Bicycle thief beaten up

GUJRANWALA: Citizens on Sunday beat up man after he was caught trying to steal a bicycle. They tied him with a tree and painted his face black. Police said some residents of the Rahwali area saw one Muhammad Afzal stealing a bicycle from outside a house on Gul Road. They tied him to a tree. Witnesses said men would slap him turn by turn. They said he kept apologising but no one listened to him. They also put black polish on his face. He was later handed over to the police. Police said he told them it was the first time he had tried to steal anything.
