Kidnapping case: Suspect remanded in police custody

The girl, 13, told the court that she was abducted in October.

LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Saturday granted Nawaz Town police physical remand of a man accused of kidnapping a teenager and attempting to sell her for Rs25,000. The police produced accused Abdur Rehman before the magistrate and sought his further remand to interrogate him for information on those who had tried to purchase the girl. The girl, 13, told the court that she was abducted in October. She said her kidnappers had tried to sell her for Rs25,000. She said she resisted and shouted for help and the residents the area surrounded the house where she was being kept. She said they caught Rehman, beat him up and handed him over to the police.
