ITP declares wearing of a seatbelt as compulsory for passengers sitting on the front seat of a car.
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has declared wearing of a seatbelt as compulsory for passengers sitting on the front seat of a car, a police spokesperson said on Friday. Earlier, seatbelt fastening was only compulsory for a vehicle’s driver. Acting Senior Superintendent Police (Traffic) Asmatullah Junejo directed all field officers to take action against drivers of cars where passengers on the front seat next to the driver’s are not wearing a seatbelt. The drivers could be fined Rs300 if the front seat passenger is found not wearing a seat belt.
