According to a statement released from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday evening, it repeated its stance that drone strikes are a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and that there is an across the board consensus in Pakistan that these drone strikes must end.
The statement added that the Pakistan government has consistently maintained that drone strikes are counter-productive, entail loss of innocent civilian lives and have human rights and humanitarian implications.
“Such strikes also set dangerous precedents in the inter-state relations.”
The statement added that drone strikes have a negative impact on the mutual desire of both countries to forge a cordial and cooperative relationship and to ensure peace and stability in the region.
According to initial reports of the strike on Friday, the second in two days, killed at least five people as the drone fired two missiles on a compound in Dandey Darpakhel.
Earlier on Thursday, a strike targeted another compound and car in the Miranshah Bazaar and killed at least three people.

@HN: Dear HN, I quite agree. It does appear that the US does not wish to have a peace process on the agenda. But then this is not really a surprise. The US has attacked and created mayhem in at least 30 countries over the last 50 years or so. It was once said that America's business is business. Now America's business is perpetual war. If America ever does move out of the Sub-continent I wonder who they will pick on next? There are not too many countries left.
@unbelievable
The US knew about this guy from day one and only killed him because he was siding with pakistan in peace process. US needs these puppets only when they are acting on their words. Once they are useless, they are terminated.
Thanks USA on behalf of Pakistan since they are hesitating .
Thanks USA on behalf of Pakistan .
Well, Hakeemullah Meshud has been killed several times now. I wonder if this is the final claim by the Americans? It seems like a repeat of the OBL saga. Apparently OBL had the deadly Marfan Syndrome, which he died of about ten years ago. However, good old President Obama brought OBL back to life and then killed him again after loosing at least two helicopters and goodness knows how many navy seals. Almost similar to the New Testament, isn't? It would seem that President Obama also appears to have lots and lots of ardent followers who believe in his capacity to create miracles.
Pakistan and its governments have no credibility in international eyes. It is a joke of a country. It doesn't know whether to support or condemn drone strikes, whether to support or condemn terrorism, and whether to support or condemn America. It is a divided, rotting nation held together by the greed of its military and politicians.
@ np: Yes because he does not want these extremists idiots to wage a war against his party as well. A patriot as proven by record, would never support any of the acts you have mentioned-not because he supports-but being diplomatic just to bring them on the negotiation table that would stop the mass killing and the petty issues you have mentioned is not terrorism, it's internal issues that can be dealt with reforms. There were 8000 rapes in a year in Punjab Mr! Compared to peanuts in the other provinces. None of the punjabi mafia of politicians have done anything to curb it! And better not touch the religious issues in a radicalised society as pak! Now call me a Taliban, go ahead!!
PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif is the PAPER LION. He does not have the courage to tell truth to Pakistani nation. He will never be able to take single step to secure the lives of Pakistanis. He is nothing but a sheer disappointment and shame for us.
@Syed A. Mateen: "Let the drone issue should be dealth by Imran Khan alone and people of Pakistan will see how drone attacks will come to a complete halt within one hour from the time Imran Khan will take the drones issue in his capable hands."
Really? DO tell me how? By stopping the supply routes? You already tried that as a country. You stopped supply routes for 8 months. US did not bend. The only thing stopping supply routes will do is that it will stop coalition support funds.
If you think Imran orders PAF to strike down a drone after drone has beheaded so many soldiers of Pakistani army, what are the chances that Pakistani armed forces will carry out the order? Remember - unlike USA or India, Pakistani armed forces do not report to civilians and are considered an independent 'idara'.
