KHAR: Four men were injured when a bomb planted on the roof of a car dealership in Mamond area of Bajaur Agency went off on Thursday.

Abdul Haseeb Khan, an official of Mamond tehsil, said the incident occurred in Tarkho Bazaar inside the premises of Zahoor Motors at around 9:00am. The explosive device was planted by unidentified militants on the roof of the dealership and was detonated by a remote control, leaving four men injured, he added.

Khan said the explosion occurred soon after the men opened the main gate of the dealership and sat inside. “Two vehicles were also partially damaged when a part of the roof collapsed from the impact,” he added.

Khan identified the injured as Tariq Khan, Samiullah, Hazrat and Niaz. Samiullah and Hazrat were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital due to their critical condition, while the other two were taken to Agency Headquarters Hospital, Khar.

Security forces along with khasadar personnel and bomb disposal squad (BDS) officials reached the site after the blast and shared three kilogrammes of explosives were used in the device.

Zahoor Khan, owner of the dealership, told officials he had no enemies, nor had he been threatened by any militant group.
