Denying allegations: SECP refutes news story about Dhedi

KARACHI: Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has refuted a news story published on October 29 in a section of the press mentioning renowned businessman Aqil Karim Dhedi. An explanatory note issued by the secretary of the policy board says the news story “Revised enquiry of SECP confirms regulatory questioning of the stock market tycoons” has totally distorted the facts and is contrary to the events. “As a matter of fact neither any revised report on the performance of the SECP was prepared in the meeting of policy board held on October 24, nor was it presented or approved.” Secretary policy board has also rejected the text of the story and the allegations leveled in it.
