A request in this regard was submitted in the apex court, asking that Qamar Zaman be removed from his seat and his appointment declared illegal.
Advocate Hamid Khan submitted a 13-page request on behalf of Imran.
Appointment
The Law Ministry had issued the notification for the formal appointment of Qamar Zaman as the new Chairman of NAB on October 10.
The post for NAB Chairman was lying vacant since May 28 this year when the Supreme Court had termed the appointment of Admiral (retired) Fasih Bukhari as illegal.
PTI had challenged his appointment earlier this month, giving several reasons for going to the court against Qamar Zaman.
An official statement issued on behalf of PTI by Dr Shireen Mazari had stated that the appointment served to undermine the letter and spirit of the law as Qamar Zaman had applied for retirement after his announcement was made and the process was hastily completed within 24 hours.

@Fact is Fact: "IK doesn’t have anything to do so he is just doing absurd things. He is out of his mind at the moment". . Other may not agree with that. They think he has always been like that.
@Uza Syed: Please. Do not support a party whose leader doesn't even have the spine to enter Pakistan let alone fix the problems that this nation faces. What he has done is nothing but run a militia in Sindh, which is fueled by nothing but hunger for power and capital. Using my people's origin as a way to disunite them into his own groups. It is not hard to see through your leader if you align with Pakistan and not a party. This isn't what MQM has in its constitution.
Sure, anyone who is as useless as these dimwits (you know them both owners of their respective political enterprises) must go. MQM is a political movement backed by millions of better informed and politically savvy people of Sindh. Both of these political 'Mafioso' would give their right arm to win such support by such enlightened citizenry that backs, supports and votes MQM. Don't believe it, just check out their keen interest in winning support of MQM and sense of honour if invited ever to visit MQM HQ at 90.
@toronto:
Take a break from being a mindless and dimwit follower of a personality cult and you might just start to see things in perspective. Either way, my arguments are for the consumption of the sane and intelligent bloggers. You Sir are definitely not worth a slot in that category.
Peace!
@toronto: @Adnan Siddiquie haha!!.. true!! Quit Assemblies in first year???.. U Quit it after all options are exhausted and IK used say this cuz PMLn had much greater presence in Punjab assembly than PTI has in Small KPK!!.. Their resignation would have forced gov to call election cuz it's not possible to hold bi election in 200+ seats whereas it is very possible to hold in 35 seats!!!
@Uza Syed:
Lets start that process with MQM aka na maloom afraad.
@Adnan Siddiqi:
you are such a troll. none of your arguments make any sense at all. Quitting the parliament is the last resort not the first.
the context of asking pmln to quit was because they hid behind the curtain of helplessness. unlike PML, PTI is actually taking steps to get its agenda implemented.
@usman786:
Makes the job of PTI that much easier as far as getting itself rid from the parliament and KPK Assembly. Its presence is less than half of what PML-N had in NA and PA between 2008-2012. ECP and the government would have no issues conducting by-elections on the seats vacated by PTI.
The issue here is not by-elections for leaving the legislative bodies, the crux of the matter is walking the walk and talking the talk; even if its of symbolic value. The righteous and pious sermons IK preached in the past should now be applied on him. That's all. Question is, does he have the guts?!
@Khyber Khabroon:
I don't think Russel Brand would appreciate IK being around at Kiddington Hall, Oxfordshire in the event IK gets deported to his motherland.
Tell you what, they all reek of political rivalry, jealousy and self-interest. None of them deserves any place in public life, they all are gangsters and what we see is 'gang-wars'. We don't want any of them, Que se vayan todos! – They all must go!
@Adnan Siddiqi: at that time NS was a major party in assembly but now how many seats PTI has ...that will call for re-election on only those seats....
Waste of Nation's resources if Imran Khan keep creating hurdles for smooth functioning of the present government. What Imran khan knows about Nab or its function lest he may raise objection. Surely, Imran also a puppet in the hands of his pay masters.
First he made a contempt of honorable Supreme Court and was easily let off for reasons unknown.
Well he just wasting every one’ time in Pakistan and should be deported to where he came from.
and that he should refrain.

Right decision by PTI leader. Corrution breaking social fabric and becoming cause of disruction of the society. NAB chairman seems will not do his role free and fair. He has been planted to protect the corrupt people specially the politacion
IK doesn't have anything to do so he is just doing absurd things. He is out of his mind at the moment
@Adnan Siddiqi:
Nailed it.
Same old tricks and gimmics being played by IK. Speeches, rallies, interviews and last but not least petitions in Supreme court.
Do some thing on ground as well.....Please !
@Bilal:
PTI can be the only "Real" opposition if it forfeits the KPK Government and its legislators resign from the parliament. This is how Real Opposition was defined by IK whenever he had to taunt PML-N. Now is the time for him to come good on his logic and ideology and come out on the streets. You can't be in the government and be an opposition at the same time, remember these wordings?
This is the last exam of the CJ. Let's see how he fares. It will determine his legacy.
PTI is a real opposition, PPP is a joint venture of PMLN, 5 years for PPP and next 5 years for PMLN and this goes on.
The way the NAB chairman was selected left no doubt in the mind of the observer that his appointment was anything but in keeping with the impartial status of the office.
