LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Friday sought comments from the Kot Lakhpat SHO in a petition seeking the registration of a case against six police officials who allegedly thrashed the petitioner for not paying them a bribe. Petitioner Muhammad Numan said that he was on his way home two days ago when policemen at a picket stopped him and asked him to produce his motorcycle’s registration documents. He said that he told them the documents were at his home and that he would bring those if they let him go. Numan said the policemen demanded a bribe but he refused to pay it. Numan said that they thrashed him and threatened to implicate him in false cases if he told anyone about the incident. Numan said he had asked the SHO to register a case against six policemen but he had refused. He requested the court to direct the SHO to register a case against the policemen.
