Roof collapse: Labourer dies, another hurt

Roof of a bungalow at Qasimabad taluka collapsed when the labourers were carrying out the roof-shuttering work.

HYDERABAD: A labourer was killed and another was injured when the roof of a bungalow at Qasimabad taluka collapsed on Friday. The roof of an under-construction room on the second floor of a housing unit in Gul-e-Latif Phase II caved in when the labourers were carrying out the roof-shuttering work, said the police. The deceased were identified as Rasheed Maiwati, 45, and the injured labour as Yaseen Odh. Naseem Nagar police SHO Muhammad Khan Gaad told The Express Tribune that the police have arrested Adnan Ali, the brother of the bungalow’s owner, Sikandar Ali. A three-member committee comprising an architect Nadeem Ahmed Khan and two engineers Ather Ali Ghori and Mumtaz Lashari has been directed to submit report within three days.
