Stolen: Robbers away with Rs4.4m

This is the fourth bank robbery within a span of 30 days.

KARACHI: Robbers walked away with over Rs4.4 million from BankIslami’s Shadman Town branch on Friday, making it the fourth bank robbery within a span of 30 days. On Friday morning, a group of at least eight armed men entered the branch located in North Nazimabad. “They entered the bank, took everybody hostage, including the employees, customers and the security guards, and successfully pulled off the heist,” said Sharae Noor Jahan SHO Tariq Mehmood. He said the robbers spent around 30 minutes at the crime scene till 10:15am and also took away two repeater guns of the bank’s security guards. The police have started investigations after the branch manager, Zakir Siraj filed an FIR.
