Better travel: Railways minister seeks LUMS support

Minister urged students to suggest ways for improvement at the railways.

Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique on Wednesday visited the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).


Among others, the minister’s team met with LUMS Suleman Dawood School of Business Dean Arif Nazir Butt along with other faculty members.

He urged students to suggest ways for improvement at the railways.

He met with several experts at the university and informed them about various initiatives taken by the ministry to improve rail travel.

Rafiq said that the railway system in the country had been ignored by previous governments.

He said the railway system was falling apart due to negligence.

The teachers and faculty members of the Suleman Dawood School of Business expressed their interest in railway matters.

It was decided in the meeting that the Pakistan Railways would officially request the LUMS administration to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to start joint research ventures.

No one cares about that if Railway starts generating revenues.
