Irregular promotions: Minister asks for report in three days

Report is to have details of promoted officials’ qualification, date of appointment, seniority position and promotion.

KARACHI: Sindh local government minister Owais Muzaffar has taken notice of irregular promotions, specifically at the BS-16 and higher levels, made by the local councils and other field offices of the local government department. Muzaffar directed the heads of local council and other field offices, such as development authorities and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, to provide details of the promotions made during the last ten days. The report, to be submitted in three days, should provide details of the promoted officials’ qualification, date of appointment, seniority position and promotion, he said, warning that if the departments fail to comply, the officer in charge would be suspended.
