Benazir murder case: Anti-Terrorism Court to initiate retrial

The retrial will start with recording statements of 4 doctors who conducted postmortem of the dead after the attack.

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC-I) will start the retrial of Benazir Bhutto murder case with recording statements of four doctors on Tuesday. The doctors, working at the Holy Family Hospital and District Headquarters Hospital, had treated the injured and conducted postmortem of the dead brought to hospitals on December 27, 2007 following the attack on chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto at Liaquat Bagh. On October 1 ATC had ordered to start the retrial of the case after the indictment of main accused former president Pervez Musharraf besides summoning four prosecution witnesses to record their statements on October 22.

The judiciary should at least pretend to being unbiased and fair.
