Illegal trade: Bid to smuggle timber foiled

The police also lodged a case against the smugglers and further investigation is underway.

ISLAMABAD: The Kalar Syedan police have foiled a bid to smuggle timber from Kahuta to Gujranwala and arrested two suspects. On a tip-off, the police stopped a Gujranwala-bound truck in Sakot area and during checking, found timber worth Rs1.8 million. The police also took two smugglers, Abdul Majeed and Muhammad Saleem, into custody and impounded the truck. The police also lodged a case against the smugglers and further investigation is underway.
