KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has asked the petitioner to argue on the maintainability of his petition seeking contempt proceedings against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his remarks about the judges. On Saturday, a petition had been filed with the high court citing the premier as defendant for contempt plea. In his plea, the petitioner referred to Nawaz’s remarks during the announcement of the special anti-terror force on October 10, wherein he is quoted as saying that the judges in Karachi are too scared to give verdicts in terrorism cases, under the prevailing law and order situation. “Nawaz Sharif’s remarks are tantamount to ridiculing the honorable judges and committing contempt of the court,” he said.
