Adviser to Prime Minister on Information Technology, Sardar Latif Khosa has tendered his resignation and will appear in the Supreme Court in order to defend the government’s stance in the NRO review petition.
Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has accepted his resignation today.
Khosa is now likely to appear before the apex court as a government lawyer on Wednesday.
This was decided at a high level meeting held under the chair of President Asif Ali Zardari which Dr. Babar Awan, constitutional experts and ministers and Khosa also attended.
The meeting decided to strongly defend the government in NRO review petition in the court.
In July, Khosa was stripped of the powers of minister in-charge of information technology for alleged corruption due to which he tendered a resignation in protest. But President Asif Zardari immediately directed the “veteran loyalist” of the PPP to continue working as adviser.
