New town: Six booked for overcharging

A collective fine of Rs38,000 was also imposed on the accused.

RAWALPINDI: Six shopkeepers were booked on Saturday for selling everyday items on prices higher than those set by the government. The Assistant Commissioner booked Hashim, Wazir Khan, Aamir, Abbas, Irshad and Altaf during a raid on commercial areas of Saidpur Road and Sixth Road for overcharging residents of the area. A collective fine of Rs38,000 was also imposed on the accused. The overpriced items included milk, yogurt, potatoes, onions, grapes and bananas.
