Omar's statement -- cloaked as an "Eid" message -- came a day after President Hamid Karzai and US Secretary of State John Kerry agreed on some parts of the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA). The agreement however left the issue of providing immunity to the US soldiers unresolved.
“The invaders and their allies should understand that the strategic agreement will be accompanied by grave consequences for them,” said Omar in a message received by The Express Tribune on Sunday.
President Karzai appointed former President Sibghatullah Mujaddadi to convene a "Loya Jirga" or grand assembly to discuss and give a formal approval to BSA which Omar opposed.
"They might get these documents rubber stamped by a fake Loya Jirga but it will not be acceptable to the Afghans. Throughout the history, the real representatives and Loya Jirgas of the country have never signed documents of slavery," said the Taliban leader.
Omar said those who sign the BSA do not represent the Loya Jirga of the country.
"Their decisions are not acceptable. The invaders should know that their limited bases will never be accepted. The current armed Jihad will continue against them with more momentum,” he went on to say.
'Votes of people have no value'
The Taliban leader also rejected the upcoming Presidential elections scheduled for April 2014, the year set by NATO troops for withdrawal.
“The Afghan people can't be enticed by the (current) conspiracy of misleading people under the name of elections in the shade of the occupation in the country. There are figures active in these elections who are catering only to personal interests and the interests of the invaders rather than the Islamic and national interests,” Omar said.
He regretted that some of the leaders were "trying to distort Islam" in order to reach the corridor of power and to "please the non-believers".
“The people know that some foreign stooges are playing with their destiny. The votes of the people have no value in the elections nor will participation benefit. Therefore, the Islamic Emirate rejects these elections and urge the people to avoid participation in them because this is only a drama being played by the invaders to attain their goals,” the Taliban leader said.

@ Babbarsher Khan
Which twisted school in punjab teach you this narration of history that afghans have been slitting each other throats??. I think you are taking things very literally. Off course there has been voilence but in the history of afghnistan but in the last 150 years it has been invaded by 3 world powers as well. The whole of humanity has been in wars with each other at some point and even in Europe they were fighting as far back as the nineties. Whilst you guys were collaborating with the brits who had a pupulation less than 5 percent of yours and land less than 5 percent as well the afghans were brave enough not to be subjugated. whilst your jargirdars, khans and chaudhris were playing slaves to their masters(they still are) they were were in a way also slitting the poor mans throat. This butchery is still going on. So please don't take a moral high ground by picturing afghans as violent and yourself as more peaceful. There is nowadays more violence in pakistan than in afghanistan and this can't be denied.
What are 40,000 insurgents going to do against 350,000 ANA and perhaps more than 5000 US residual troops? Nothing. We will have a stalemate in Afghanistan.
Haha- One eye Omar from Kandahar hasn't been a real leader for years and When all the NATO troops are gone there will be no nreason for Pakistan to keep their pet Taliban. He is a joke being baby sat by Pakistan security.
Nothing new here for those in the know about this guy ! He knows too well that US withdrawal is going to be his comeback show and back to the old ways and Pakistan as in past will approve with double hands , but what Pakistan does not realise is the fact that, this doctrine is going to be their downfall as nation, as this idiots are very ambitious and will make attempts to takeover Pakistan and impose their regimes too ! The Pak Army's track record in past decade is very poor, in dealing with these cockroaches,, may that be by choice or lack of ability. However its been very obvious over past year that they simply are out of their depth and this very situation can be absolute end game for them too. It will be very interesting few years in these two Nations. I would not put my money in Pakistan at present.
All hail Omar...!!! the real Mujahid..!
How is this guy still alive?
Mullah Omar should hold a press conference or distribute videos through al Jazeera to prove to the world that he exists and dispel the narrative, which is disseminated by ISPR.
Mullah Omar's speeches are written by ISI and as long as he lives under this protection, Afghans will perceive him as a slave of a slave.
Mullah Omar lives in a safe-house in Pakistan.
@ashar:
Please stop abusing Islamic titles for extremist Deoband/Salafi religio-political ideologues.
Ground reality is that Mullah Omar is a wanted extremist terrorist criminal, who gave sanctuary to Al Qaeda, and has condoned the bombing and murder of innocent Afghan civilians, Pashtun and non-Pashtun alike who are sick of him, to get his revenge and power back. He is a mujrim, a khawarijite and the religious nationalist Pak state are his hypocritical/munafiq enablers if not accomplices, betraying both the international community and its own citizens by playing deranged double crossing games, sabotaging its own peace and stability by still holding on to violent strategic assets policy.
If you are man enough mr mullah omar show your face..
Once he loses his sanctuary in Pakistan and his backers in Pakistani society and establishment crumble (or lose interest) this one eyed monster will be history! Whether Afghans will stop killing each other with the eventual demise of these medieval warrior is another story, most probably they will not. Afghans have been "living in peace" while slitting each others throat for thousands of year, this culture may continue for couple of more decades before a proper Afghan nation state comes into being. Let's hope that wait is shorter.
Sacrifices have been made and BSA is important for regional security in the future.
Sacrifices have been made. BSA is important for regional security.
@Abdullah: Yes, you are right. He is the most powerful person of Aghanistan just like Masood is the most powerful person of Pakistan. Masood rules less than one percent of people of Pakistan but enjoys the powers of a king. PM, COAS and other great leaders of Pakistan are begging him to come to the negotiation table, whereas Mullah Umar has authority over thirty percent of Afghanistan which is more than enough to terrorise, rule and kill rest of seventy percent.
Yeh cheese !!!! that's my boy ...
@Abdullah: I doubt if he has real power in Afghanistan. However, he has real power in Pakistan. In the years to come by, Pakistanis will soon realize how much damage they have brought to themselves by allowing him to remain in Pakistan and promoting him. Mulla Omar is an albatross around neck for Pakistan.
This guy is directly responsible for providing Al Qaeda a safe home in Afghanistan and is indirectly responsible for 911 and everything that happened after it. The USA should take him out the same as OBL and if that means marching into Quetta and exposing Pakistan duplicity so be it.
@ashar: Yes indeed.... I love him! He's so cooooool (!!) ... and the photo clearly shows he is a Hunk-and-a-Half (!) ... anyone would swoon over this leader (to say the least, and much more than that "western puppet" called Malalala) .... looking forward one day to meet him in person once he is the Amir-ul-Momineen, and addresses the UN or OIC or whatever in that capacity...
Seeing photo alone people get scared.what will happen when these people come face to face.
It was a foregone conclusion that Afghan Taliban would never share power with Karzai or take part in an election process. Being in the position of strength and knowing fully well that US desperately wants to reach some sort of an agreement with them before 2014 for making an honourable exit from Afghanistan rejected the US-Afghan pact conveying a clear message that the war from their end would continue, and there will be no peace in Afghanistan. This statement at this critical juncture is a great set back not only for US and Afghanistan but for all the countries of this region, may be with exception to Pakistan who wants its old ally to rule this country.
This man has the real Power in the country, respect.
Mullhah just said what his masters told him to say.
How long has this terrorist been finding sanctuary inside Pakistan? Unlike OBL there has never been any doubt that he's living inside Pakistan - maybe you should make some effort to arrest him?
