ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken a leaf out of the private sector’s book.

The agency has announced that it will be treating successful bidders at land auctions as “valued customers.”

Amid a meeting at CDA headquarters, Chairman Nadeem Hassan Asif said the authority would facilitate people who place the winning bids in plot auctions. Asif said a dedicated counter would be established to help the bidders complete post-sale requirements.

He said the CDA would try to remove the red-tape from post-sale formalities so the transfer process could be completed quickly. He also directed the agency’s officers to print brochures with maps of proposed auction sites and clear instructions in English and Urdu to help the interested parties prior to auctions.

The meeting was held to conduct a final review of sites that are going up for auction in the third week of November. The CDA has planned to auction 40 commercial plots as well as some class-III shopping centres. The sites are located in sectors F-7, F-8, F-10, F-11, G-8, G-9, G-11, I-8 and I-11.

According to CDA officials, the chairman had assigned tasks to all board members to ensure that plots for the November auction are cleared, leveled and provided with services such as sewerage, drainage, road access, electricity and other utilities.

In the meeting, the board members claimed all facilities have been provided at the proposed auction sites.

The meeting was attended by Engineering Member Sanaullah Aman, Planning and Design Member Waseem Ahmed Khan, Estate Member Shaista Sohail, Finance Member Sher Bahadur Arbab and Environment Member Ahsan Ali Mangi.
