Fraud: Fake money paid for goats

Police said pamphlets would be distributed in the cattle market to raise awareness and stop the crime.

BAHAWALNAGAR: A goat seller was swindled on Friday when he was paid counterfeit money by four unidentified men in Bahawalnagar. Police said 31-year-old shepherd Wali Muhammad was on his way to a cattle market in Haroonabad when four unidentified men approached him. The men paid Muhammad Rs95,000 for four goats and left. Muhammad later returned to his village [58/4-R] where he was told that the 19 Rs5,000 notes he had received were fake. Saddar police told The Express Tribune that they had informed the district government about counterfeit money gangs operating in the area. Police said pamphlets would be distributed in the cattle market to raise awareness and stop the crime.
