LAHORE: The Punjab University Syndicate will consider disciplinary action against a university lecturer for remarks made at a press conference late last month. Khujasta Rehan, a lecturer at the PU Law College, has accused Vice Chancellor Mujahid Kamran of sexual harassment in a case referred to the provincial ombudsperson under the Protection of Women Against Harassment at the Workplace Act. Rehan said at a press conference on September 30 that the vice chancellor should be suspended so he could not influence the inquiry and expressed no confidence that the inquiry would be impartial. The matter is on the agenda for the PU Syndicate’s 1701st meeting on October 12.
