The Rangers had carried out the raid on a tip-off, seizing armaments which included Kalashnikovs and bullets.
The Pakistan Peoples Party's MPA in his statement said, “The weapons were not illegal and I have licenses for them.”
He further stated, “I had these weapons for security as I have been a target of bomb blasts and firing before.”
“Rangers should keep on carrying out such raids as this gives a positive message to the public,” he added.
Target Nagori
On August 7, a bomb went off outside a packed football ground in the densely populated area of Lyari in Karachi killing at least 11 people and injuring 26 others.
The apparent target of the blast was Jawaid Nagori.
As a result of the blast, minister’s car was also destroyed, and the paving on which it was parked gave way as well.
This was not the first attack on Nagori. He was previously attacked during his election campaign in May this year.

How would one know if he was not using his official car for transporting arms to Layari gangsters. Why Is Klanshikof licences given for self defence.Does he also has licenses for Rocket launchers and Granades??
An aggressive approach is needed due to the deteriorating security situation in the city. Pakistan has been a key ally in the region for over a decade. It is extremely important to have a safe and secure Pakistan for the sake of restoring peace in the region. At the same time, it is hard to imagine a safe and secure Pakistan without a safe and secure Karachi. We have full confidence in the government’s ability to bring the situation under control. We stand by the government of Pakistan in its effort to negate the threat of violence, and wish to see peace prevail throughout the city.

where is now MQM haters....this weapon given by ex sindh interior minister Mirza
They should be allowed to keep weapons. How will they harras/kill someone when they need to if they do not have necessary equipment?
And then they say...
Citizens of Karachi needs to be armed otherwise they will be harmed.
Govt should depoliticize police and stop meddling in rangers job. Then this city would be clear of whole mess in just days.
The government must come clean on what is going on in this forlorn country or else we can expect more damnation, death, and destruction. Sorry and Salams
