In attempting, and failing, to kill her, the Taliban unwittingly made a rod for their own back and there have been reports of them saying, even as recently as two days back, that if they ever got the chance to kill her again, they would.
It is no exaggeration to say that Malala is today the most famous and recognisable citizen of Pakistan in the world, and should in a just world, be celebrated in her home country. Yet, despite her stated desire to return to her homeland, the reality is that this is unlikely in the foreseeable future. Taliban aside, Pakistan is ambivalent at best about Malala and some see her prominence arising from some dark foreign plot, a conspiracy, and say that she and her family are tools being used by the CIA. The rest of the world sees it differently and for Malala Yousufzai, still a child but growing into a powerful woman, there is no going back from her fame. It will be both a blessing and burden to her for the rest of her life, a life she has dedicated to the fight for education for all worldwide and in that there is true courage and nobility. We obviously share the view of the rest of the world.

@Last Word: Stupidity is no offence to anybody.
Had Malala been born in India and undergone the same type of attack and survived, the same would have been declared as a miracle of God. She would have been treated as Devi, the incarnation of Goddess Durga, who had come on this earth to destroy the demons read Taliban. A temple would have been constructed on her name and people worshipping Malala by touching her feet. ET please publish, as no offence is meant to anyone.
I read the comments above and can imagine the moderators omitted those which give a very negative picture of Malala. I am not one of them, but there are plenty. That she is a an agent of west? That her brain operation was a fraud? That if she is so brave why does she not come back to Pakistan and face the terrorists? Malala has stood for girls education. I support her. Malala showed the world that Taliban are evil. I agree with her. Malala showed the world that Pakistan is not safe for girls who want education and more rights. How true. Pakistan has nothing to be proud of. If we cannot see her grow up in Pakistan, just stop giving so much space for her. Let others do it and shame us.
By being sceptical and even critical of Malala, majority of Pakistan has shown why they deserve the scorn, doubt and derision of rest of the world.
What else can the world do of a country, that doesn't even know how to respect itself and its own?!!
What can you say about a country, where the Taliban can still roam around, without being punished for shooting a girl, while the Girl is held in contempt for her fame across the world??
Pakistan does not deserve Malala.
We are proud of you Malala and pray for your success and long and fulfilling life.
I don't see any conspiracy in her as most of the PTI supporters and Mullas are predicting. But even if there is a conspiracy involved we should support her as she has been portraying a softer and good image of pakistani nation in the western world. As we know earlier we were dubbed barbarian or some kind of extremist people in the west. I think the only other person who played this role was BB, when she was alive. So please come out of your holes and look in a wider context for the sack of national interest.
Malala: You go girl!!! We are all proud of you and cheering your courage. You are the only good thing Pakistan has produced in a very long time and a reason to be optimistic of Pakistan's future. Ignore the comments of Pakistani men. These comments are signs of jealousy and the fact that your courage has unveiled their true colours: that they are a bunch of big cowards whose masculinity is only derived by suppressing and hurting women. Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif: learn the meaning of courage from this slip of a girl.
Malala is a Global-citizen and a global-icon.Nobody gives a damn as to what the bigoted Pakistan thinks of her!!!
Courageous, focused, intelligent Muslimah - may Allah bless her and enlighten the hearts of those who abuse and insult her
Malala is THE Pakistani hero like no other. In fact, she is one of the only positive Pakistanis that that wretched country has produced in a long, long time. May she continue to be a beacon for the oppressed. May she continue to be a messenger for the rights of girls. Long live Malala. Long live her message of hope.
Malala has more courage than the entire PTI put together and that is partly why Imran Khan's trolls hate her so much.
