A hearing in this regard was held today during which Advocate Akhtar Shah made the request to discharge Musharraf’s name.
After listening to his arguments, the court rejected the plea as inadmissible.
The court also dismissed Shah’s request to become a party and a witness in the case, saying he was politically affiliated.
The anti-terrorism court further accepted a request for new trial of the case, which is to begin on October 22, and has also summoned three witnesses.

When I read the comments I saw hope for a country with lawless judiciary. I still wish Benazir wasn't horrendously murdered like that, but as Malik Hamza sahib said, Musharraf was not the security officer of her. This case must be thoroughly investigated by all means. Where was Rehman Malik when he was supposed to look for possible attacks? He even implied Shahbaz Bhatti was responsible himself for being murdered. Why not interrogate him for his whereabouts and actions? If NS is really self-confident on this matter, why not take his personal revenge on elections instead and let Musharraf run for the elections? Why not look for Arsalan Iftikhar case? Judicary must not be Nawaz sb's score settling centers, and inshaallah justice will prevail and show us that.

There is no evidence against Musharraf in this case. President Musharraf was not the security officer of Benazir ! So how can he be named in this case? PLease some one explain because* there is no logic * what so ever in this case. Its only Personal Vendetta against the great leader. Shame on Judiciary and cheap justice.
It's a shame to watch a good man, an honest and sincere leader being disgraced in this manner. This is living proof of what a few petty minded people can do with whatever power they assume they have to satisfy their sense of importance and their need for vengeance. Shame on this travesty of justice and rule of law.

Read the story..........1979 superb accomplishment of Major Pervez Musharraf who cleared the Grand Mosque of Makkah of insurgents: An elite unit called "Rahbar" of the SSG, the commando battalion of the Pakistan Army, headed by Major Pervez Musharraf, was mobilized and SSG commandos were rushed to Mecca from Pakistan on Saudi Government's request. In the middle of the day, Saudi troops abseiled from helicopters directly into the central courtyard of the mosque. The Saudi soldiers were picked off by insurgents holding superior positions. After failure of this exercise, Pakistani SSG Commandos split/showered the water allover the Grand Masjid floors even in Minarets. This situation was very surprising for the insurgents that what was going to be happen next. On having water all over the floors of the Grand Masjid, Pak Army Commandos released the electric current in the water and insurgent suspended their activities and start changing their positions to save them from the electric shocks. During this Pak Army Commandos were dropped by helicopters into the Grand Masjid in different locations and they easily captured many of the insurgents alive. Without launching into rhetoric can anyone explain the evidence, if any, of his involvement in this case? The Govt is keeping a lid on this Though it is mandatory that this be shared with the defence team. The only 'witness' i.e. Mark Siegel has backed out.
Musharraf's involvement in this fake case has made Pakistan's legal system the laughing stock of the world legal community. Such injustice and vendetta just confirm Pakistan's reputation as a lawless country. If someone who did so much for the country can be treated with such judicial prejudice, then what can the ordinary citizens expect?
