Soon after the incident at 9:15am, police reached the home of the judge in Nawab Town area and arrested the boy A*, sources told The Express Tribune. They also recovered the weapon - a 12 bore gun with an empty cartridge - from the scene.
His mother was taken to Jinnah Hospital where she died after about three hours. Police sources added that the judge reached the police station and abused police officials present, saying that the incident was an accident, while demanding to know why his son was arrested.
His wife’s body was handed over to him and he took it to his native city in Mianwali.
Sources in the police said that the judge and his wife had developed clashes over some domestic matter and used to exchange harsh words. Asia had accused her son of favouring his father. On Monday she snubbed her son as the judge had left for office. The child pulled out the gun and shot her, they stated.
However a duty officer at the police station claimed the incident was an accident as the gun went off when the boy was cleaning it in the morning.

I want to know the knowledge you have. and please don' t go to the email adderess. he sold it to me.We both lived together as i was his neiborghe.the day that happened i went to his home to give kheer and there was a very big bang noise and the door was open so i went in and saw him crying beside his mother calling the police. it was a miss understanding between them and before i came i heard his mother calling him very bad names and there was a voice of breaking something and even i saw broken glass when i was there and he told me that he was holding the 12 bore gun in his hands when suddenly his mother came as he was scared he didn't knew it was loaded so he pushed the trigger and 7 pellets hitted her mother and 2 came out from the exit wound and 1 pellet missed her.He told that he and his mother had a quarrel which even involved that she some bad things about his father and even threw a glass on him on which he holded the gun just in order so she doesn,t threw anything other on him and this accident happened.So when even the police came he was so tense that if police officer didn't rushed and came, he was holding the gun in such a position that he was about suicide and police officer took the gun from his hands and even after that everyone spoked to him so politely so he doesn't act such type of thing again.Even when one of the constable slppped him so he slapped him twice and if one of the police officer didn't came it was looking as if he was going to kill him.And also went in police station as an witness with him and also went to the hospital,he was telling everyone to pray for her mother and so all of you who are reading should think that he was so hopefull for her mother but everyone knew that she has died lately.She was addmitted to the hospital at 8:30 am and died on 10:00.Everyone even the recue1122 unit even said that she was reciting kalma sharif till she was alive in a very loud voice.So think how generous she was.Before reciting for the last time it is said by the wardboy of the hospital that she said that there was no fault of her son.I didn't went with him to mianwalli. i think that as he told that the gun wasn't of his father , it was of his uncle who was in America and he told that my father bought it to home as it was recovered after a theft in his uncle's house.He told that although my father,me nor anyone in the house had the license but as he told that it is law of arms and ordinance 1967 that any law officer can buy or have a gun of realative without the to keep his/hers family safe so my father bought it here.So far as i know he guilty and having treatment. Since the time I was a kid I have been reading news where someone got shot while someone else is cleaning the GUN and the kidnap of a girl when someone get married in the court. These are rubbish excuses and always create problems.

Why was the boy allowed to clean the weapon in the first place and above all he should have never been allowed to handle the loaded gun with out his father or any other elders supervision. Responsible parents always lock their weapons and kids are taught time after time not to mess around with loaded weapons. However, it is important for the kids to know and handle weapons with intensive training and teachings by those who know how to handle the guns. My condolences to the father and the bereaved family, we know that the boy's life is also ruined because of the guilt and the stigma, although it is very possible that it was an accident.
All major crimes and sins are committed by Punjabis. Has anyone any statistical data to prove.

Absolutely tragic incident. While it is very sad for the mother I feel equally sad for the 10 year son who would have to live with this trauma for the rest of his life.

It is a very tragic incident.
People who keep pistols or guns with bullets at their residences, how come they easily become accessable to those persons who are not authorised to used them?
Had the Judge secured his pistol and out of the reach of his son, this tragic incident would have not taken place.

10 year old not only had access to the gun he was allowed to clean it? If there is an iota of truth in this story - my heart goes out to the child who lost his mother in such a horrifying manner. But nothing pardons Mr. Judge from his crime: negligence that lead to death. That said, I am not buying this story.

Police did its duty to apprehend the culprit boy and to initiate investigations. Mystery shrouded in the incident and theory of accident with not keeping responsibly and securely a loaded firearm landing into the hands of infant that too when cleaning shows all intentionally is hardly tenable coupled with unnerving behavior of father which all make the doubts stronger. The so called judge behaved in an outlawed and most bizarre manner abusing and misbehaving with police officials which was unbecoming of a responsible law officer. For his misdemeanor which also indicate his involvement in the incident, tacit or explicit, he should summarily be dismissed from service to start with followed by complete independent investigation as a mark of respect and show of sanctity to the life which has been lost.

What kind of sane culture allows guns to be fired to celebrate a wedding or a cricket victory?
