In an interview, Rasheed said that the government acknowledged the site as a source of information, but unfortunately, it was also being used to publish objectionable material.
He further said that holding talks with the Taliban is a collective decision of the political leadership.
The government is proceeding on the issue of talks in line with the decision of the government, said Rasheed.

@Kaleem: You need a fresh course on your beliefs.
Just open YOUTUBE. It our right. Government is not doing us a favor by unblocking it. PP govt was not justified in blocking it.
@Razi, You jumped into conclusion very quick, may be you are having a boring Sunday. Brace yourselves for others opinions.
P.S. @ET, A comment such as Razi's should not be approved.
@Kaleem: You probably are insane. The ban was justified for a certain time period of atleast 10 days in which they could have removed/blocked all the filtered content or could have signed up a deal with the website so that the content would not have been visible in Pakistan
I like the honorable minister's argument. I think kitchen knives are useful but they have been used to kill and maim... they should therefore be banned. Same goes for motor cycles, cars, rat poison, stones, axes etc. Please stop torturing us with such inane statements. Apologize for you statement and say it was a mistake and the ban should not have been imposed. If you go on to say that the responsible individuals have been charge sheeted, that would be reassuring.
Would all please note the magic WEASEL WORDS "in principal" used in this press release? After all, "in principal" pigs can fly!!!!!
As a regular reader of both Tribune & Dawn, I have always wondered why the headlines in the two are not the same so often! For example today Dawn has Jalil Abbas Jilani's statement about Nawaz having raised the issue of 'foreign' interference in Baluchistan, but there is no mention of it! There was also no mention of it in the original account on the following day after their meeting. This is not an isolated incident, but a regular one! I know Nawaz is keen on peace with us, but will the TTP, Mullahs & (most difficult) Khaki allow that?
Just tell us whether you are going to unblock it or not. Don't talk about principles.
...until the next blasphemous video comes out.
What we sinned to get clowns as our rulers. It's not amusing anyone anymore.
Repealing of ban on YouTube will be welcomed by every one in Pakistan.
Please fix a date of re-opening of YouTube and let every Pakistani Internet user know about this in Pakistan.
