“Makeup that’s matt will not have a wet shine or glow to it as the foundation has been settled with powder. When you are wearing matt make up, a glow can be brought about by adding a powder blush or shimmer,” makeup artist Renuka Pillai told IANS.
“Shine makeup or what I would rather call 'glossy', gives a more dewy effect as the foundation used is generally a liquid or a tinted moisturiser with minimal powdering. It gives a rather nice glow to the face,” she added.
She suggests to highlight cheekbones, add a bronzer or creamy highlighter.
Glossy makeup gives the glow that we thrive for, but Pillai says to check the season too.
“During summer season, try and keep it matt. Sometimes glossy can get a little oily looking if there is humidity,” she explained.

Some really great advice here, thanks! I'll try it out and get back to you guys on how well the tips here worked out. I highly recommend you read this book on paleo skin care program I found at GlamThread here http://glamthread.com/?p=6. I read some great reviews on it and purchased it and started religiously following it about 2 weeks ago. Nothing ever has improved my skin this much. After my pregnancy, I started to break out all the time and my skin became very oily, I didn not know how to treat it and it seemed like makeup made it all the worse. Thank God it got cleared up. I hope this can help you as much as it helped me.
