Ex-brigadier, family’s murder: Team formed to investigate the incident

A former brigadier and family were mysteriously murdered on Monday night.

The police are still clueless about the motive behind the murder of a retired army surgeon, his wife and two daughters.


However, an investigation team headed by Potohar Town Superintendent of Police Haroon Joya, comprising SDPO Civil Lines, SHO Morgah and Assistant Sub-Inspector Ghulam Shabbir has been formed.

When contacted, the SP said no breakthrough had been made in the case yet. He said finger prints and mobile phone data of the victims have been collected from the crime scene along with four shell casings of 22mm pistols.

Brig (retd) Sikandar Ali Malik, an orthopaedic surgeon was found shot dead along with his wife Shahida, two daughters Fatima and Zainab in the early hours of Tuesday.

The family belonged to Sialkot and was living in the residential colony of Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital. Dr Malik was the principal of Yusra Medical and Dental College in Soan in Rawalpindi.
