It was created by Henley & Partners to rank countries based on the visa-free entry their citizens have. They analysed visa regulations around the globe to determine the results.
Pakistan shared its ranking with Somalia, beating only Iraq which ranked 92nd and Afghanistan, which came in last place. India ranked higher than all three countries at 74.
The report said that Pakistanis had access to only 32 countries without a visa, while Afghanis could access just 28.
Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom tied in first place as their citizens can travel to 173 countries, visa-free.

@muzammil ahmed- Yes talk to all your brothers and fellow citizen that support the Pak-Taliban that has made it impossible for you to receive a visa to any civilized country in the WEST!
Can anyone tell me how we can go abreoad without aving visa? any Process!!!
Pakistan got worst reputation in travelling history, also got highest number of deportation from diff parts of world and also worst country where no tourist wants to come and worst in list of its own citizen loves to leave and go away somewhere else.... my gf is english and she dont ever want to visit pakistan because she thinks its unsecure, too strict and no fun at all .. nothing special to see . no beach and low standard and poor life .. it really hit me when i try to argue about it but its the fact .. we are worse on the list because we leave such reputation in every embassy in the world ... shame on lawmakers and lawbreakers in pakistan .. i am heading turkey to live with my gf finally cos she dont want to live in pakistan and i dont want to live in uk as response to her attitude for pakistan
Yeah, where is the Ummat of the Muslims? When you have poor leadership, internal divisions, firqas, and servitude to the West which came and imposed the divide and rule policy then why complain? Who has the guts to propose and issue a 'Muslim visa' meaning that any citizen from a 'Muslim' country irrespective of their faith ought to be able to enter any other 'Muslim' country freely? Why should this not be feasible or are we afraid of being accused of being religiously biased? Why not show that 'this religion of the Muslims' is INCLUSIVE then, not exclusive? No , the West has little to fear , as long as the 'Muslims' are merely content at being 'Saudi' or 'Canadian' or 'British' or 'Indian' or 'Indonesian'. The 'Western' concept of 'nationhood' taking precedence in terms of one's identity has surely weakened the Muslims who at one time were UNITED and presented a credible, disciplined and advanced body that commanded respect. But we became decadent, corrupt and allowed Western forces to create dissent and disloyalty in our ranks so that they would rule us and we would fall into disarray. Little has changed.
@Salman Yousaf: A glorious Islamic nations/kingdoms of past are no more glorious... Why? its because they turned away from Allah and still not recognizing that its themselves who were responsible not others for their fall... Once you leave the sanity the insanity prevails... its natural.. better not to blame others and good to come out of the real world on moral grounds.. Allah will give us harmony coz its Allah's promise if we ever be able to fulfill the requirements for it...
Mr.Nabeel please update your knowledge.many of the countries you mentioned have also ended the facility of VOA for Pakistanis. For example, Macau and some Islands in Oceania. But it is hoped that with the passage of time,the things will get better. We are still looked on high in many countries as against India but all depend on our behavior and character.
Nadir: We must beat the India! @Nadir: and what about the first 70 countries? if we have such mindset then even afghan will be ahead of us by the next polls
All the talk about brotherhood is nonsense. It is a very simple actually. Only two things matters here - Money and Security, money being the bigger factor. You will see Chinese passport getting more respect going forward as China becomes richer. Pakistan is in economic dump and had got associated with terrorism. If we achieve the 60's prosperity and economic growth again, Pakistani passport will again start getting respect. We sing songs of brotherhood with Arabs and they try to steer clear of us. Once we have more money, see all those 'brotherly' countries change their tune.
"Pakistan shared its ranking with Somalia" no wonder the suicide rate in Somalia has suddenly risen to alarming levels.....Somalis apparently cannot bear the thought of being reduced to such a level that the world is equating them with Pakistanis.
@ Nabeel. The list of countries providing visa free travel for Pakistani passport is actually outdated. I know for a fact that Nepal, Sri Lanka, Laos and Macau all require visas for Pakistani passport holders. (Nepal and Sri Lanka take upto 48 hours to process visa - Sri Lankan visa can be applied online, Macau takes 2-3 weeks, and LAos 3-5 days but Lao visa can only be obtained from Lao embassy in Bangkok). And I am sure several of the other countries in the list have changed their visa policies towards Pakistani passport holders as well. So the actual number is much less than 32. Long Live Pakistan!
@B: Against whom there were riots?
People already struggle to get the green passport
@Nabeel - "Think Positively… Here is the list of those 32, which allow us to enter :)"
Ironic... Not a single Muslim country in that list (that allows Pakistanis without visa or visa on arrival)... What happened to the much talked about Ummah?
@Mr.Engr: you are the only patriotic person here trying to look for solutions ! its ver difficult though. I am sad to say that all the efforts started for better future by your generation will only be successful in next generation so start doing good in hope of good future for your children not yours.
How it will change ???? Any suggestion anyone......
Actually Pakistani passport is the best for staying home.

India is doing just a wee bit better. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/india-can-win-the-nobel-prize-for-filth-ramesh/544212/
@Sivaramakrishna B:
Here is the shining India real picture. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/india-can-win-the-nobel-prize-for-filth-ramesh/544212/
We should not blame ourselves for this reason. we did not bring the war at our doorsteps we only encouraged 'religious soldiers to come here train and kill infidels & then lost control as they turned on us. We only hosted Usama Bin Laden in our military backyard it's the fault of USSR and USA. We take billions from USA yet they are the bad guys & everything is out of control in Pakistan we should always blame them for our failures. It is our bad habit that we blame our own country, our own forces, our own intelligence agencies. Do you think the daily terror attacks, the high corruption in every department! No foreign investments in our economy Is the fault of our saintly politicians? Please be smart and leave this kind of behavior to let us blame others This country is blessed and our guards are our forces and agencies will never allow Pakistan to fall into of abyss darkness!
@Determined Afghan We will be so pleased when Afghans leave Karachi and return to the mountains. That is your homeland and that is where you can primitive belong.
Since Bangladesh kicked-out Pakistan in 1971, Pakistan's misery knows no boundaries...
@Sara Khan: Please find such people first. :)
@Nabeel: I am positive that you need a visa for St.Kitts and Nevis; embassies in Washington, D.C and London, U.K. Also, you need a visa for Mozambique. For both of these places, they are not granted on arrival. So please, fellow readers, do your research before embarking on a vacation.
@Californian Desi: Kuwait does not give visas, including family visas for Pakistanis working in that country. Pakistanis figure below Bangladeshis. What an achievement for a "nuclear power". LOL
And for all the Canadians posting their messages... you need a visa to travel to UAE !!! ha ha
@Javaid Randhawa: Errm... just to let you know... back in year 2000 (before 9/11) we still could not travel to all these countries... so, yes we should blame ourself and stop blaming US for everything that happens in Pakistan. For everything wrong that happens in the country, to avoid blaming ourself and fixing the issue, we blame it on the West!!! nonsense!
@Mohammed Abbasi: Bro wait and see .. :) ..
The visa may depend upon the passport you hold. But the treatment at the airport depends on the country of your birth and not the passport you hold. This applies equally to India, Pakistan and many other countries
I want to see the list of nationalities that can travel to Pakistan without visa & vice versa.
A passport fiasco and a sullied face. Entrance into thirty-two countries out of 173, without visas, is quite a rating for the country. Salams
Don't worry brothers Pakistan is having its bad time. Just love and support each other, everywhere, on every platform, be united and struggle to contribute something for the betterment of your country. That is what we can do.......
@Karachi Bhai: You foolish person ... these restrictions are not in place due to TTP or tableeghi jamat ... these restrictions are in place becuz the average pakistani misuses the freedom given to him and runs away (illegally takes refuge) once he enters a visa free country ... its got nothing to do with security .. last i remember even a country like Hong Kong waived off its visa free regulations due to this problem ...
You silly people like to fight and point fingers before finding out the truth ... well remember what you say is what you are held accountable for ... and it can all come right back to you ...
it's not the green passport, its the us who makes it valuable, our collective action can make it valuable, start teaching your countrymen travelling outside to live with pride, dignity, honesty, hard work and dedication, the lost glory will be ours one day, inshaAllah.
@Hamza: Your are making a point as if "diplomatic passports" are sold on the streets of Pakistan. Well, on a second through... may be they are sold on the streets of Pakistan !! After all its the Land of Pure.. oh no the epicenter of illegal activities in the world.
@Javaid Randhawa: But you took dollars from the Americans when they rented you for proxy war in Afghanistan. Yes, you invited the wrath on your own land. The Land or Puree !
@Mohammed Abbasi:
Your Grandfather lied then and your history book's been lying for ever!!
@Pakistani: You are one hundred percent correct. We should have let the Soviets have their way with you when we had the chance. As for "your country." Your Durrand British line means nothing to me as do you. Why can't you deport those so called refugee's. You can't do anything. You're terrified of my people and with good reason.
Dont worry, its all about economy! It was better when we had good economy until late sixties, it can get better if we turn around our economy! look at Malaysia in world top 10, the only Muslim country to be in top 10!
@Determined Afghan Next time your country gets invaded, don't coming knocking on our door with your tail between your legs - stay in your own country. And yes, please take back the couple of million of your brethren still polluting our country after 30 years of free stay.
Why in the news article, the author is comparing us (Pakistan) with India. We are separate country from India. India is a foreign country for us. Yes, India is our neighbor. But we have other neighbors too. So we should drop this habit of comparing or correlating every parameter with India. Please grow up . This country is now more than 66 yrs old.
@Nabeel: Thanks for the detail list. And please notice the irony, that even the muslim countries like UAE and Saudi does not give visa less entry to Pakistanis. I point this out specifically since quite a lot many people in your country wants to associate themselves to Arabs inspite of having Indian sub-continent blood flowing in them. Talk of the ummat.
i traveled out of Pakistan in early 70's, i got the worst treatment in Europe because of green passport. Later on i acquired canadian citizenship (not a dual nationality like many Pakistani politicians including Allama Tahirul Qadri sahib) and since then i am treated with respect where-ever i travel, especially US and Europe. Long live Canada and Pakistan where everyone is trying to leave the country, particularly minorities who are treated like zimmies. so much for brotherhood.
Visa free travel criteria, while an interesting statistic, doesn't tell the whole story. Pakistani passport holders are singled out at foreign airports and subjected to intensive scrutiny, interrogation and search. Concern about terrorism is the main reason.
Where are Canada, Australia, New Zealand in this list. Am I missing something or the authors of this report have gone nuts??
@Z Khan: can we have list of those countries? it'd be interesting to know.
E.T come of it. You seems to be adept at going to great lengths to get bad news about Pakistan. No other country give bad press to its own country as Pakistan Press does. With freedom comes responsibility.
@Salman Yousaf: and keep out the vermin from inglorious ones.
pakistan # respect .... lol :)
I wonder why?
InshAllah, when our beloved leader Imran Khan will open the office of TTP in Bani Gala Palace, we will be banned to travel with green passport in the rest of the world. We are really counting minute and second for that honorable status. Wow
@Nabeel: Awesome research.
the largest muslim population country, indonesia, gives visa on arrival for India. but for Pakistani passport they give only calling visa (a special process which takes.4-6 weeks with a lot of zillat). and we still talk of one ummat
and that is why you change your passport. Long Live America and the freedom it gives you <3
@Ali S:
for god's sake.. stop bringing to religion to everything.
@KDP
@JD At least we do not need a visa to go to Allah.
That's the saving grace. That's what we are left with.
@Caresless Whispers: But was it on the pakistani passport without the visa??? I guess not.
@Nadir: We must beat India. Dream on. At the present you are competing with Somalia who is likely beat you as things are improving there and yours are going from bad to worst.
@tweety: India is ahead of pakistan. nuke me
Let me tell u one secret guys...out of those 32 countries more than half of these visas are only for diplomats...and u know a common man has no benefit here..so practically maybe 5 or 10 countries where we can go without visa..i think sudan..kenya and afghanistan must be one of them lols
Thank God for dual citizenship.
@JD:
At least we do not need a visa to go to Allah
@tweety: Egypt & Iran were better because these countries don't issue their passports to their citizens easily as Pakistan and they are tough govt who follows rules i.e Either Islamic or Secular but they follow it and enforce it. Plus both Iran & Egypt have great & rich history & cites and Westerners would folk it if they become more open & accommodating especially in Iran case.
regards,
@blackRose:
You won't be above Afghanistan for long. Although that seems to be the only objective Pakistan has these days. Be above a nation you do everything within your power to keep destabilized. This list is very telling in many ways. As I always said, the irony is you share Afghanistan's fate. But eventually, that won't even be true anymore. We as Afghans will not forget and we will not forgive. Change course know for the betterment of your own country and the region.
When we Muslims were the Ruler of this world... There were no Boundaries.. Boundaries were designed in early 1900's to discriminate Glorious Countries.. like US
@Caresless Whispers: read the report again.. have u been to germany with pakistani passport without visa.. you must be kidding
a country that calls itself "Islamic republic of Pakistan" a country that asks for one's religion on its passport application , a country that has journalists like the ones on Pakistani TV channels , a country that has charlatan politicians like Imran khan , a country where yhe youth is so gullible , why one would be surprised about the bad reputation in the world ?
@khaleel: Actually Iran mentions it - Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran shows more respect to Islamic teachings than Pakistan does.
@Duck pound: proud of you
@JD: All we have to do is to get rid of the current politicians and elect clean, educated and honest people.
90% of this passport mess is due to afghans who entered here as refugees and then somehow got the passport. Else pre 1990s it was the same Pakistani passport enjoying many visa free destinations.
Doesnt matter! I dont need visa for any country! I am happy to live here
Fiji is good, lots of muslim gals waiting for marriage. and good opportunity too. think abt getting out of Pak. thats ur chance...
This list skips a lot of countries, you cannot put Afgnanistan on end of the scale and Denmark on the other, and expect it to have the rest of the World in between. It clearly misses countries like Iraq and Syria who are facing severe crisis at the moment. Anyone with an iota of common sense would know that this list is a mere suggestion, has nothing to do with facts. What if I have a diplomatic passport? That would allow me to enter even a greater number of countries without even a visa, wouldn't that be counted as a Pakistani passport? Hope I made my point.
Try getting Indonesia visa if you are in a foreign country on green passport. Only than you realize how much brotherhood exists between Muslim countries.
LOL good to have duel nationality (second one is Danish= Danmark:P)
Phir b dil hai Pakistani.. I feel proud to be called Pakistani. In sha Allah things will get better soon.
It would be interesting to see statistics on how many visa's are declined - suspect Pakistan heads that list as well. Like it or not - reputation counts when traveling the World and Pakistan is rated lower than N Korea right now - something you should work on.
Pakistan seems to be plumbing new depths in a number of areas. Just today ET reported that Pakistan was one of the worst countries to grow old in:
http://tribune.com.pk/story/612088/pakistan-among-the-worst-countries-to-grow-old-in-un/
@Karachi Bhai: Keep playing the blame game and call other provinces like they are other countries. You will prevail!
Think Positively...
Here is the list of those 32, which allow us to enter :)
Americas Dominica (Visa free for 25 days). Haiti (Visa free for 3 months). Montserrat (Visa free for 3 months). Saint Kitts and Nevis (Visa free for 1 month). Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Visa free for 1 month). Trinidad and Tobago (Visa free). Turks and Caicos Islands (Visa free for 30 days).
Asia Iran (Visa on arrival for 15 days) Laos (Visa granted upon arrival for 30 days; one passport photo required). Macau (Visa on arrival for 30 days) Maldives (Visa granted upon arrival for 30 days). Nepal (Visa granted upon arrival for 60 days). Sri Lanka (Visa granted upon arrival for 30 days). Timor-Leste (Visa granted upon arrival for 30 days).
Africa Burundi (Visa granted upon arrival). Comoros (Visa granted upon arrival). Djibouti (Visa granted upon arrival for 10 days or 1 month). Egypt (Visa granted upon arrival for 14 days for visiting South Sinai resorts only). Kenya (Visa granted upon arrival for 3 months). Madagascar (Visa granted upon arrival for 90 days). Mozambique (Visa granted upon arrival). Seychelles Visa free for 30 days Togo (Visa granted upon arrival for 7 days). Uganda (Visa granted upon arrival).
Oceania Cook Islands (Visa free for 31 days). Federated States of Micronesia (Visa free for 30 days) Niue (Visa free for 30 days) Palau (Visa granted upon arrival for 30 days). Samoa (Visa free for 30 days) Tuvalu (Visa granted upon arrival for 1 month). Vanuatu (Visa free for 25 days) Fiji (Visa granted upon arrival for 90 days).
And it is the only passport in the world which mentions the religion of its holder.
Thanks to ET for publishing this interesting data. China placed amongst the lower ranked countries is indeed strange, but India's position above it is most satisfying.
So there are still some countries where we can travel without visa. Good to know.
Dont know weather ET will publish it or not..........India and China are at lows because world fears competition in intelligence,,jobs and competition.....while pakistan is at last because it gives best competition in all the things that its people only condemn i.e. terrorism.........Thats the fact and we pakistani's should admit it....ashamed to write muslim,Hindu,ahmedi in passport form..am better with my canadian passport as i made the decision after seeing pakistani passport form which ask weather u are muslim or not..it should ask people weather u are human or not.......
WHHAAAATTT???? There are 32 countries which allow us in WITHOUT a VISA??? Man, now that's a happy news!
We must beat the India!
@Mohammed Abbasi My father studied electrical engineering in Germany in the 1960s he would tell me he was treated with respect and was always the center of attention as most people had never met someone from Pakistan. He was often questions about the culture, food and life in Pakistan.
Yahooooo we are above Afghans..time to celebrate this optimism yupeeeeee!!!!
Oh really?? guess what i've been to Dubai, Germany, Taiwan numbers of time.... i also travel to Libya.. rubbish report...
Pakistanis don't need visa at all. They go where ever they want by hook or crook.
Will be also interesting to see the names of those countries which allow Pakistanis visa on arrival - possibly they only have VoA for everyone in the world. Another important point is that even if citizens of two countries require visas to enter a foreign country, the rules that apply and their categorization could be different. For example, Singapore categorizes India along with China and Russia (and other erstwhile CIS countries) as a Level-1 country, while Pakistan (along with most of the other muslim countries) is a Level-2 country.
India ranks higher than China. Pakistan ranks equal to Somalia. I think the Somalis won't like themselves compared to Pakistan.
"...and Imran Khan says that people will struggle to get the green passport."
Honestly, I can't remember the last time I got any substantial good news coming out of Pakistan. But my father tells me that he has seen some.
Thanks to TTP, Tableeghi Jamat, SA and People of big province we have reached this state that nobody likes us. Please do something!
egypt and iran are better...kill me
Not the end of the world. InshaAllah things will change for the good.
My grandfather used to say that in the 1950s and 60s The Green Passport of Pakistan was treated with honour and respect by the world :(
