Last year’s runners-up KESC began the match confidently and took an early lead through Abdul Rehman’s goal in the second minute, and their striker Muhammad Rasool doubled the score in the 17th minute.
However, Navy’s Asif Baksh scored for his team in the 38th minute as KESC led 2-1 at the interval.
Keeping the momentum going, Baksh equalised for Navy with another goal in the 48th minute, however, KESC’s Rasool scored the third goal for his team four minutes later. This was again equalised by Baksh in the 73rd minute.
Both Navy and KESC ended the day with their third draw of the season from eight and five matches respectively. However, KESC maintained their position at the top despite the stalemate with 18 points to their credit.
