MBA target killer practised headshots on dogs

Fifteen more people killed in acts of violence.

In a fresh spate of violence, 15 people were gunned down in Karachi on Monday. Separately, a target killer explained how he became an ‘expert’ by practising headshots on dogs.

In an interview with The Express Tribune, arrested target killer 28-year-old Fahad Hussain said he practised shooting dogs in the head in an open ground in Karachi at night.

It was all led by his friend Talha, who was the ringleader of ‘a team of target killers’ that Fahad was a part of.

The team, usually comprising eight to ten target killers, used to make the dogs run in the open ground in the Korangi area and then tried shooting them in the head one by one. “Talha would make us practise until we became experts,” he said.



Fahad, who is affiliated with a political party, confessed to two murders. One of his victims was a police constable, while the other was Aftab Sheikh, a politically influential man in Karachi.

He has an MBA degree from University of Sindh in Jamshoro and a bachelor’s from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi. Fahad has been involved in targeted killings since 2012. But he insists that Talha forced him to get involved.

He was arrested by the police on a tip-off, Mehmoodabad SHO Muhammad Sarwar told The Express Tribune.

Talha was also with Fahad when the police conducted the raid, but he managed to get away.

15 people killed

A father and his two sons were among 15 people who lost their lives in separate incidents of targeted killings in the metropolis on Monday, despite an ongoing Rangers-led operation.

Abdul Shakoor, 55, was gunned down along with his two young sons – 30-year-old Zahir Shakoor and Abid Shakoor, 24 – by six armed men on motorcycles in the violence-ridden neighbourhood of Lyari.

The victims sold halwa puri on a handcart for the last 17 years.

A woman was found dead in Korangi area, but it is unknown if she was targeted.

Separately, bodies of three young men were found from inside a car in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The bodies have not been identified as yet. Police said the victims were kidnapped, severely tortured and then killed. Drilling marks were found on their bodies and wounds of knife stabs on their tongues.

Meanwhile, a property dealer, belonging to Shia sect, was shot dead along with his driver by two armed men on a motorcycle in North Karachi. The deceased were identified as Hassan Ali and Majeed Rehman.

A factory worker, Saleem Rahat, was shot dead by armed motorcyclists near the University of Karachi.

Other incidents of murders were said to involve personal enmity or unexplained motives.
