FAISALABAD: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mian Javaid Islam on Saturday warned police officials against laxity. He said efficiency was required in making the necessary arrests and completing investigations.

Speaking at a performance review meeting, the RPO expressed concern over the rising number of complaints against senior police officials, including station house officers and deputy superintendents (DSPs).The RPO said DSPs and SHOs should visit crime scenes instead of dispatching patrol units. “Sending mobile units to the site is becoming routine,” he said.

The RPO said action would taken against officials found guilty of negligence and dereliction of duty.
