Did you know?: Zinda Bhaag bags Rs7.5 million in first week
By Tuesday afternoon, the film had crossed Rs5 million- mark.
KARACHI:
According sources, Zinda Bhaag had a tremendous opening week with an overall collection of Rs7.5 million.
The film released on September 20 on 31 screens across Pakistan with a largely digital release with a few cinemas being provided with 35mm film stock. By Tuesday afternoon, the film had crossed the Rs5 million mark.
The surprise opening of Cinepax at Ayesha Manzil in Karachi and some multiplexes in Punjab also helped the Lollywood film to reach the Rs7.5 million-milestone by Friday afternoon. However, the film might not be able to reach the Rs20 million-mark in its full running – the release of Bollywood film Phatta Poster Nikla Hero has started to give it a tough competition at the box office and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Besharam is expected to make it tougher.
But if luck shines on Zinda Bhaag, Besharam’s footfall at the box office might help Zinda Bhaag get viewership – something that was witnessed when Aashiqui 2 helped Chambaili in getting business. Given the limited budget in which the film was made, Zinda Bhaag is expected to earn overall Rs16 million as it is reported to be released in the United States, Canada and India. As for now, box office experts have declared it a hit! We hope Zinda Bhaag makes it to the Oscars.
