Ongoing crackdown: Six arrested for extortion

The police registered a FIR against the three suspects and charged them for extortion.

ISLAMABAD: Officials of the Ramna Police Station booked three people on Thursday for allegedly being involved in extortion. According to the police, Muhammad Afzal, a transporter told the police that the accused, Irshad, Iqbal and Junaid, have been forcing him to pay extortion sums. The police registered a FIR against the three suspects and charged them for extortion. Meanwhile, the Sabzi Mandi Police Station booked suspected extortionists, some of whom already had a case registered against them. Safdar Siddiq and his brothers, Amjad and Tariq, who are allegedly leaders of an extortion gang at the vegetable market, were nominated in an FIR along with four others by the police on Thursday.
