Islamia College professor shot in Karachi

KARACHI: A professor of Islamia College was shot while driving his car in Karachi, Express News reported on Thursday.

According to the police two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired on Professor Ghulam Nabi Wassan's car.

Wassan was immediately rushed to hospital, where doctors said there were two bullets in his chest and his condition is critical.

Karachi has been held in the grips of a wave of unending violence that has claimed the lives of many civilians, educators, activists and professionals from all walks of life.

In March this year, poet and former principal of Liaquatabad College Professor Sibte Jafar was shot dead in Karachi. He too was gunned down by unidentified men riding a motorcycle.

In June, Professor Azfar Rizvi, along with his driver, was gunned down by unknown assailants in the city.
