Khost attack: Cross border shelling kills two

One of eight mortars fired into Bangi Dera village of the agency landed on a house causing 2 fatalities and an injury.

Two people were killed and another was injured when mortars fired by coalition forces from across the Afghan border landed in Ghulam Khan tehsil of North Wazirstan Agency on Tuesday.


Talking about the incident, an official of the political administration said that one of the eight mortars fired into Bangi Dera village of the agency landed on a house causing two fatalities and an injury. The official said that the house was severely damaged in the attack. The names of those killed could not be ascertained so far.


The official revealed that the mortars were fired by coalition forces from Khost province, adding that the incident marked the second such attack during the past 48 hours. A similar attack had been carried out late Tuesday night in which one person was killed and another injured.
